[ARCHIVED] Press Release: Graham County Flood Control District Truth In Taxation Hearing

GRAHAM COUNTY FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT, BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, PRESS RELEASE

The Graham County Flood Control District Board of Supervisors will be holding a truth in taxation hearing on Monday, August 7, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., at the General Service Building Assembly Room located at 921 West Thatcher Blvd, Safford, AZ. The following truth in taxation notice will be published in the Eastern Arizona Courier on July 22, 2023, and July 29, 2023:

TRUTH IN TAXATION HEARING - NOTICE OF TAX INCREASE

In compliance with section 42-17107, Arizona Revised Statutes, Graham County Flood Control District is notifying its property taxpayers of Graham County Flood Control District's intention to raise its primary property taxes over last year's level. Graham County Flood Control District is proposing an increase in primary property taxes of $30,996 or 14.29%. For example, the proposed tax increase will cause Graham County Flood Control District's primary property taxes on a $100,000 home to be $12.00 (total proposed taxes including the tax increase). Without the proposed tax increase, the total taxes that would be owed on a $100,000 home would have been $10.50. This proposed increase is exclusive of increased primary property taxes received from new construction. The increase is also exclusive of any changes that may occur from property tax levies for voter approved bonded indebtedness or budget and tax overrides. All interested citizens are invited to attend the public hearing on the tax increase that is scheduled to be held Monday, August 7, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., at the General Service Building Assembly Room located at 921 West Thatcher Blvd, Safford, AZ.
